Coaching & Navigation

Sometimes You Don’t Need Another Lecture. You Need a Next Step.

Compass Forward offers structured coaching and navigation support for people who need space to sort through what is happening, identify priorities, understand available options, and begin moving forward without being told what they have to do.

Support With Direction

You may know something needs to change without knowing what comes next.

Domestic violence can leave people managing dozens of problems at once: safety, housing, finances, children, work, legal concerns, family relationships, emotional recovery, identity, and the practical work of rebuilding everyday life.

Coaching and navigation provide a structured space to slow the situation down, identify what needs attention, and turn an overwhelming list into realistic next steps.

Ways to Work Together

Different needs call for different kinds of support.

Sessions are designed around where you are now, what you are trying to understand, and what would help you move forward.

Focus Session

A focused one-on-one session for one immediate question, problem, decision, or situation that feels difficult to sort through alone.

The goal is clarity: identify the issue, organize the moving parts, and leave with practical next steps.

Navigation Session

A structured session focused on identifying resources, support pathways, services, and options that may fit your current situation.

This can be especially useful when you know you need help but do not know which type of service or resource should come first.

After-DV Coaching

Ongoing support for the part people rarely talk about: what happens after the crisis, after the relationship, or after survival mode begins to ease.

Sessions may focus on rebuilding routines, boundaries, confidence, decision-making, relationships, identity, or other parts of life that abuse disrupted.

Group Coaching

Small-group educational and coaching experiences designed around shared topics such as rebuilding after abuse, autonomy, boundaries, relationships, and life after survival.

Group offerings may be scheduled periodically as programs become available.

What We Can Work Through

You do not have to arrive with everything organized.

Sometimes the first part of the work is simply figuring out what the real problem is underneath everything competing for your attention.

Compass Forward coaching is designed to help you identify priorities and create movement without taking control of your decisions.

Sessions may help you work through:

  • What needs attention first.
  • Life after leaving an abusive relationship.
  • Rebuilding confidence and decision-making.
  • Boundaries with family, friends, or former partners.
  • Loneliness and major life transitions.
  • Rebuilding routines after survival mode.
  • Identifying appropriate resources and services.
  • Preparing for difficult conversations.
  • Understanding patterns you do not want to repeat.
  • Creating realistic next steps.
The Compass Forward Approach

Your autonomy matters here.

Abuse often involves having choices questioned, controlled, monitored, or taken away. Support should not recreate that experience.

Coaching at Compass Forward is built around education, reflection, practical planning, accountability, and respect for your right to make decisions about your own life.

The goal is not for someone else to become the expert on your life. The goal is to help you hear yourself more clearly and move forward with better information and stronger direction.

Clear Boundaries Matter

Coaching is support. It is not crisis intervention or therapy.

Compass Forward coaching does not replace licensed mental health care, legal representation, medical care, emergency services, or individualized domestic violence crisis advocacy.

When a need falls outside the coaching relationship, the appropriate next step may be connecting with another qualified professional, service provider, or community resource.

How It Works

Keep the process simple.

You do not need to prepare a perfect explanation of your life before asking for support.

1

Choose Your Starting Point

Select the session or support option that seems closest to what you need right now.

2

Tell Us What’s Going On

Use the inquiry or booking process to share enough information for the session to begin with a clear focus.

3

Leave With Direction

The goal is to finish the session with clearer priorities, practical next steps, and a stronger sense of what comes next.

Important

Compass Forward is not a 24-hour crisis service.

Coaching inquiries and appointments are not monitored continuously and should not be used for emergencies.

If you are in immediate danger, contact emergency services or an appropriate domestic violence crisis provider.

If you believe your phone, computer, email, or internet activity may be monitored, consider using a safer device or communication method when seeking support.

Your Next Step

You do not have to solve the entire future in one session.

Sometimes the next right step is simply getting clear about what needs attention now. Explore coaching options, submit a booking inquiry, or contact Compass Forward if you are unsure which service fits.
